It’s beginning to look alot like.. a covid Christmas.

Christmas is truly one of my favourite times of the year, but… covid has decided to visit our house this year… just in time for Christmas, and… because I leave everything to the last minute, of course (!!) I hadn’t done my Christmas shopping and anything I want won’t be here in time for Christmas! Eeek!

We have been doing a LOT of screen time while napping and resting, but we want to enjoy christmas and our holidays!

I truly hope you’re not in the same boat as us, but if you are, here are 4 top tips to help you out…

1. Use Click and Collect! You can do alot of your shopping online 🛒 and most of them will have it ready in about 2 hours or less.

Write on your order that you have covid and nominate someone to pick up your order for you (make sure to include their name and address that matches their ID).

The great thing about this, is you have already selected and paid for the items, so you don’t have to send your nominated pick up person on a wild goose chase!

You can forward the confirmation email to them and then they can pick it up and drop it to your doorstep! Easy!

2. Challenge the kids to something interest based!

My oldest child (13) loves star wars. I challenged him to draw a baby yoda christmas picture for me. It came out great!

My oldest daughter (10) wants to be a fashion designer, so I challenged her to come up with some Christmas fashion designs! 🎄

My youngest (9) loves finger knitting and making anything with yarn, so i challenged her to make letters out of an old rice bubble box 📦 and wrapped her yarn around it! She gave us each one that is the first letter of our name!

If you can’t think of any crafty ideas, look up easy Christmas crafts on Google or Pinterest… there is sure to be something that would interest your child (even for a little while!)

3. Don’t feel bad about screen time. I really dislike my kids having too much screen time. It is something I’ve tried really hard not to do, but it is so helpful when you feel really crap!

So shake off the guilt and check out the heaps of Christmas shows on Disney, Netflix or any other streaming service you subscribe to.

Once we feel better we can turn off those screens and enjoy the world again!

4. Accept help! We are truly blessed with amazing family and friends who want to help us out! We have a beautiful friend dropping us dinner tonight and had my mum come and drop us off some tissues this morning!

So take the help if you need it and don’t feel bad! You can always pay it forward when your friends or family are sick down the track!

Well… I’m off to have another rest!

Merry Christmas 🎄
